Dioctyl Terephthalate (DOTP)

Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) - is a non-phthalate plasticizer. It is used for softening PVC and can replace general-purpose phthalates such as DOP, DEHP, and DINP, which are facing some negative regulatory pressure.

DOTP shows very good plasticizing effects in many applications.

Dioctyl terephthalate is used in a number of other processes and products including the manufacture of high-temperature cables, automotive plastic parts, and leatherette. It is extensively used in paper finishing in the calendaring process; also in extrusion, molding, coatings, and several ink applications as well as being patented for use in latex compositions for hair care products.

If you compare DOTP with other primary plasticizers, such as DOP (dioctyl phthalate) and DINP (diisononyl phthalate), then DOTP main advantages include its environmental friendliness and safety for human health. The main raw material for DOTP is terephthalic acid and this type of plasticizer fully complies with modern international requirements for the safety of chemical compounds.
